About Us

The Colorado Collegiate Orchestra (CCO) was founded during the summer of 2023 with the goal to create a new type of orchestral program for aspiring professional musicians. Since we are entirely student-led and directed, the CCO is a one-of-a-kind organization. The orchestra is composed of college-level musicians who either grew up learning music in Colorado or actively study music in the state. Members span from advanced high school players to graduate-level college students and come from all over the country.

The inspiration for creating the CCO stemmed from the desire to reconnect with former music colleagues for an intensive orchestral festival experience. The main goals of the CCO are to create a new cultural center around symphonic music in younger demographics in Colorado, as well as help give back to the communities that helped support us during our musical upbringings in this great state. The orchestra and team of directors are committed to performing diverse programs including many standards from the orchestral repertoire as well as works from student composers and conventionally underrepresented groups.

The CCO aspires to be involved with the local communities of Colorado and help give back through music and charitable donations. In upcoming seasons, the CCO also plans to branch off into new territories such as outreach to underprivileged areas in Colorado, and create smaller chamber groups for smaller community events.

Musical Excellence

Our Principles

The CCO aims to provide the most enriching musical experience for its members. Through carefully considered programming and unique performance opportunities the CCO is able to create a professional-grade orchestral experience.

Student Empowerment

Empowering leadership ideals is fundamental to the CCO's mission. Because the CCO is entirely student led this grants special opportunities for young musicians to embrace their role as the future of orchestral music.

Community Impact

The CCO was founded with local communities in mind. Through our initiatives, we are able to create a positive impact in our state through donations to local charities and public concerts.
